Covid-19 protocol
Ensuring Your Safety During Treatment
We are committed to providing a safe environment for both our patients and staff. To ensure your safety during your treatment, we have implemented the following measures:
-
Thorough Screening
All individuals attending appointments will undergo a careful screening process.
- Mask Protocol
Masks must be worn upon arrival and throughout the clinic, only to be removed when directed by the treatment team in the treatment room.
- Vaccinated Staff
All staff members have been fully vaccinated with three doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
We use high-quality PPE, including fit-tested N95 masks, to ensure the protection of both our patients and staff.
- Advanced Ventilation
A high-capacity extraction fan system has been installed in the surgery to remove air directly outside the building. This system achieves over 15 air changes per hour, significantly improving ventilation compared to typical rooms, which have an average of only 3-4 air changes per hour.
- Carbon Dioxide Monitoring
We continuously monitor the Carbon Dioxide levels in the surgery to ensure optimal ventilation.
- HEPA Air Filtration
Medical-grade HEPA 13 air filters have been installed to remove airborne virus particles, providing an additional layer of protection. These filters capture particles as small as 0.1 microns.
- Rigorous Cleaning
We maintain strict cleaning protocols, using TGA-approved medical-grade detergents and disinfectants to sanitize all surfaces, including treatment chairs, after each patient. All reusable instruments undergo autoclaving to ensure thorough sterilization, effectively eliminating viruses, including SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19).
- Pre-Treatment Mouthwash
As part of our protocols, we recommend a pre-treatment mouth rinse to reduce the risk of transmission of the COVID-19 virus, as research has shown this to be effective in minimizing transmission.
- Rapid Antigen Testing (RAT)
Should the community transmission of the virus increase, we will implement regular Rapid Antigen Testing for all staff to further reduce the risk of undetected asymptomatic infections.
Patient Cooperation
We kindly ask for your support in maintaining a safe environment by adhering to the following guidelines:
- If you are feeling unwell, particularly with symptoms such as a cough, sore throat, fever, runny/stuffy nose, headache, or gastrointestinal symptoms, please reschedule your appointment.
- If you are a close contact of someone with symptoms or who has tested positive for COVID-19, please refrain from attending your appointment.
- If you are isolating or awaiting COVID-19 test results, we ask that you do not attend.
- Please use the hand sanitizer provided upon arrival.
Evidence from the UK, Europe, and the USA—where routine dental treatments have continued through various stages of the pandemic—shows that these measures allow us to safely provide care while reducing the risk of transmission. We are committed to delivering effective and safe treatments during this phase of the COVID-19 journey.
